HTTPS Everywhere

Found a great Firefox Add-on from the Electronic Frontier Foundation called HTTPS Everywhere.

This add-on forces Firefox to use a secure and encrypted connection to websites that support HTTPS.  It’s simple and once set you’re good to go.

Siphon

Came across a great Firefox add-on today: Siphon.  It syncs your Firefox add-ons across multiple PCs.  Install and create an account: that’s it.

Unfortunately it doesn’t sync settings but it’s still in beta and we can always hope for more features.

Textarea Cache Firefox Add-On

This is a Firefox add-on so simple and yet oh so handy.  Textarea Cache runs in the bottom right corner of Firefox and keeps a copy of text you’ve typed.  It’s a life saver for blogging since you have a backup always available.  Keep in mind it only saves text from the last or active web page: that’s why it’s perfect for PC or browser crashes.

Above is the Textarea Cache window open for this post.  It’s a lifesaver!

An amazingly simple and effective Firefox 2 plug in that does two things really well; clears your search box after a specified time, and opens your search in a new tab.  Brilliant!

Two great extensions: FEBE backs up your current extensions as XPI files so they can be installed anywhere, as well as bookmarks and cookies.  CLEO packages this backup as one self extracting file.  Very slick.
